Today I am both excited and anxious…
Ten years ago, I launched Gugu Guru as a way for moms to get personalized content and for brands to connect with the right moms at the right time. Over the years, we evolved—leaning into the creator economy to help mom-focused brands collaborate with mom influencers and creators in meaningful, high-impact ways.
In January 2022, I had an idea to create a community to help moms get in on the creator economy. Fast-forward to today, that community has exploded into tens of thousands of moms. It’s just gotten too big to keep everything under one roof.
Serving both brands and creators has made it difficult to keep our messaging crystal clear. That’s why I made the decision to officially separate the two and create a new business entity for Mom Creators, Inc. I am building that entity here on Substack.
Gugu Guru remains the boutique agency mom-focused brands know & love. My amazing team and I will continue helping these brands collaborate with mom creators—whether it’s influencer marketing, UGC, or content strategy.
Mom Creators is now its own entity with one mission: to help one million moms thrive in the creator economy.
This transition won’t happen overnight and that makes me a little anxious. I’ve spent the last three years pouring my heart into building this community, and I know shifting into this next phase will take time, patience, and intention. But I’m committed to making sure both brands and creators get the clarity and support they need.
