Why I Built the Mom Creators Community
The Mom Creators community is a true passion project. I saw a gap—moms with incredible creativity, talent, and stories to share were struggling to turn their passion into real, sustainable success. I know firsthand how hard it is to juggle motherhood while building a brand, negotiating with companies, and keeping up with the ever-changing world of content creation. So, I built a space where mom creators could learn, connect, and grow—without feeling overwhelmed or alone. Mom Creators is more than just a community; it’s a movement that empowers moms to own their voice, get paid what they deserve, and create on their terms.
When I had my son, Rory, in 2010, I didn’t want to return to my 9-5. Like so many new moms, I wanted to figure out a way I could earn money, further my professional aspirations while working from anywhere so I could stay with my son. I took that giant somewhat scary step into entrepreneurship in 2010 with my first company - a marketing consulting practice- and then again when I launched Gugu Guru in 2015. I haven’t turned back.
So many moms want this for themselves and I am determined to help them achieve their goals. Today the Creator Economy offers even more ways moms can benefit from flexible work and monetize their expertise and passions.
Mom Creators is a community of tens of thousands of moms at all stages of the creator journey. I am excited to help them through resources, guidance, brand connections and now IRL events.
